Weekly Tip

Good posture is essential for maintaining the health of your spine and preventing back pain. Here's why: Good posture ensures that your spine is in proper alignment. When your spine is aligned correctly, it distributes the weight of your body evenly, reducing the risk of uneven wear and tear on the spinal discs and joints.

When facing the mirror note the following:

· Are my shoulders level, or is one side higher?

· Are my arms rotated inward, do I see the side of my index fingers, or do I see the back of my hands?

· Are my ear, shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle making a straight line, or is my head slumping forward indicating forward head carriage?

When laying prone, note the legs lengths (is one heel is longer than the other?)

· This could be indicative of an anatomical leg length discrepancy, which is rare.

· Typically, this is an indication of a tilted pelvis causing one leg to appear longer than the other.
